The story behind our website is the following: As a group of enthusiasts, in love with the piano notes, we started as amateurs searching for new songs to play. Not finding a friendly website to list all of our beloved songs' scores, we thought about selecting the material that we found and share it with others.
The idea for BossPiano.com was born and then it was just a matter of time and effort before we put the website together. Hozier, on his full name, Andrew Hozier Byrne is an Irish singer and songwriter.
He was born on March 17th, 1990 in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland.
He was part of Anúna between 2008 and 2012 and embarked on several tours with the group, reaching Netherlands and Norway. He was part of Illumination, appearing as a singer on the track 'Le Chanson De Mardi Gras'. Hozier approaches many musical styles such as indie rock, blues and soul.
Hozier has been musically active since 2008 but it was only in 2013 when he released the EP 'Take Me To Church'. The EP featured songs like 'Angel Of Small Death And The Codeine Scene', 'Cherry Wine', 'Take Me To Church' and 'Like Real People Do'. The title song became very popular on YouTube, turning it into his breakthrough song. A huge hit, it topped the charts in many countries, reached number two on Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the iTunes charts.
The next EP after 'Take Me To Church' was 'From Eden'. It featured tracks like 'Arsonist's Lullaby', 'To be Alone', a live version of the song, and 'Work Song'. He embarked on various festival tours and appeared on many television programs in the United States.
With the success, came Andrew Hozier Byrne's first album, which was titled 'Hozier'. It was released on September 19th, 2014 and it contained previously released songs such as 'From Eden', 'Work Song', 'Take Me To Church'. On late 2014, it was officially announced that the song 'Take Me To Church' was nominated for 'Song Of The Year' at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
His single, 'Take Me To Church' has sold millions of copies since its release, and it was certified platinum by the RIAA, RMNZ, MC, ARIA, IFPI DEN, and gold by BEA and silver by BPI.
The deluxe edition of the album 'Hozier' contains the song 'Arsonist's Lullaby'. The album won an European Border Breakers award for 'Album Of The Year' while the song 'Take Me To Church' won an MTV Europe Music Award for 'Best Song With A Social Message'.
Hozier offered live performances throughout the year 2014, at the 'Saturday Night Live' show and also at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Hozier doesn't just sing, he can also play instruments like guitar. He is one of the most prolific singers that rose in the past few years. His debut single has already been nominated for a Grammy Award making the young singer's career a promising one.
